This year at the NRBA our theme is ‘Against the Current’ which means, number one, having the willingness to surrender your life to Jesus’s authority, and number two, having the courage to follow Jesus’s teaching rather than the world’s wisdom. ‘And the wisdom of the world‘, the Bible teaches us, ‘is foolishness in God’s sight.‘ (I Corinthians 3:19)

The Bible also teaches us ‘that our attitudes should be the same as Christ Jesus.’ (Philippians 2:5) For that to occur, our relationship with Jesus needs to be personal and intimate, the kind of relationship that transforms our hearts and our minds. The word transformatioon itself means dramatic change in someone’s character and behavior. ‘Present your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will learn to know God’s will for your life which is good, pleasing and perfect’ (Romans 12:1-2)

God’s will is always made known through transformation. Students, give yourself to Jesus, not 50%, not 75%, not even 90%, but 100%, and He will transform your life in remakable ways. Let’s continue to keep the faith and boldy go ‘Against the Current.’
