Coach Miller’s Bio:

Coach Miller is the Founder and Director of North Ridge Basketball Academy. Coach Miller is highly respected as a clinician, camp director and motivational speaker. His knowledge of the game of basketball and his ability to teach the fundamentals are tremendous strengths. Throughout Coach Miller’s career, many of his former players/students have gone on to sign college scholarships and to play professionally, but his main focus has always remained the same: to use the game of basketball as a training ground in helping young people develop the skills necessary, on and off the court, to be successful in life.

Coach Miller began his coaching career as the Junior Varsity Coach at Wheeler High School in Marietta, GA, a large 4A public school in metro Atlanta. After posting an impressive two-year JV record of 25-7, Coach Miller, at age 24, was elevated to the Head Varsity position. He would go on to direct the Wheeler Program for the next seven years. During his last four seasons, Miller’s teams posted an outstanding 74-30 overall record. His 1991 team advanced to the quarterfinals of the Georgia Class 4A State Championships.

After Wheeler, Coach Miller entered the collegiate ranks with stops as an Assistant Coach at Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, TN and Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. In 1992, TN Temple University captured the NCCAA District 2 Championship. In 1993, with Miller joining the staff, Liberty’s recruiting class was ranked #1 in the Big South Conference by Bob Gibbons of the All-Star Sports Report. In 1994, Liberty won the Big South Conference Championship earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. In the East Regional, Liberty faced #1 seed North Carolina and legendary coach Dean Smith.

Following Liberty, Coach Miller decided to return to the high school ranks to spend more time with his family. In 1995, he took over the reins of the basketball program at Ravenscroft School in Raleigh, NC. Ravenscroft had suffered through 14 consecutive losing seasons prior to Miller’s arrival. Under Miller’s leadership, Ravenscroft won back-to-back TISAC Championships and was a 4-time state independent playoff qualifier and 3-time playoff quarterfinalist.

Beginning in 1997, while at Ravenscroft, Coach Miller helped establish and began directing Hoop Heaven Basketball Camp which would become a very successful summer camping and urban outreach program, based in New York City. Coach Miller guided and directed the growing Hoop Heaven program on a full-time basis from 2000-2004. He also began traveling overseas conducting basketball camps and clinics, which he has continued over the years, and has included trips to the Philippines, Bhutan, Kosovo, Mongolia, Sweden, Malaysia, North Korea, South Korea, Thailand, China and Indonesia.

In 2004, Coach Miller founded MINA Ministries, and began to invest his time in the personal development of men and women as a personnel consultant and life coach. With the opening of the North Ridge Basketball Academy in 2009, Coach Miller returns his focus to the game of basketball and to his vision of providing a program where first class basketball instruction is combined with personal character development so that young people can truly reach their full potential. Coach Miller is a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and is a lifetime member of the Cambridge Who’s Who Registry of Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneurs. He has been married to Tamra for 46 years, is the father of three grown sons, Dustin, Nathan and Luke, father-in-law to Catherine, Lauren, and Madison and grandfather to Sarah, Elisha, Jones, Miles, and Callan.

Seth Huber

Co-Director

Seth Huber currently serves as Co-Director of the NRBA focusing on staff development and curriculum implementation. Coach Huber is a Liberty University graduate where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education. He is a licensed physical educator for grades Pre-K through 12th, and was a public school instructor for over a decade. During that tenure, he developed a physical education program emphasizing individual skill acquisition, progression, and refinement through explanation, demonstration, and repetition.

Coach Huber has been extensively involved in the game of basketball as a player and a coach domestically and internationally. He’s developed into an exceptional motivator, teacher, and communicator in regards to coaching.

Coach Huber has had experience coaching various levels of basketball in multiple settings. He was a high school boy’s basketball coach at a private school in Lynchburg, Virginia, where he compiled a winning record. He has also taught the game of basketball domestically and internationally through clinics and camps coordinating fundamental skill teaching stations. He worked as a skills coach, team coach, and league commissioner for multiple summers at Hoop Heaven Camp in New York. In addition, he has coached in various youth leagues throughout his career.

Coach Huber is also an exceptional player, and has competed in the United States, Guatemala, El Salvador, China, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines as a member of travel teams for Athletes in Action, Hoop Heaven and the International Basketball Training Academy.

Coach Huber is an innate educator and coach who continues to pursue and explore opportunities to advance his abilities and experiences. Seth and his wife Jessica currently reside in Wake Forest, NC and are the proud parents of Elle, Titus and Jackson.

Nathan Miller

Director of Explode Performance

Nathan Miller currently serves as the NRBA’s Director of Explode Performance. Nathan is a 2009 graduate of North Raleigh Christian Academy. As a senior, Nathan was one of the leading scorers in North Carolina averaging 26.2 points, 5 assists, and 3 steals per game. He was also a 3-time All-Conference selection and 3-time North Raleigh Christian Academy MVP. He is currently NRCA’s all-time leading scorer finishing his high school career with over 1,300 points, 350 assists, and 250 steals. Nathan also graduated with a 4.0 GPA and garnered many academic awards as well.

In April 2009, Nathan signed a letter of intent to continue his athletic and academic career at Southern Wesleyan University. SWU is located in Central, SC and is a member of the NCAA Division II Conference Carolina’s, and formerly a member of the highly competitive NAIA Division I Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC). Nathan’s college coach, Coach Wimphrie, summed up his abilities in this statement: “Nate is a prolific scorer with deep range and accuracy. He has excellent ball-handling skills along with great court vision and passing ability. I anticipate Nate competing for a starting position as a freshman. My goal is to find more student athletes like Nate Miller who embraces our mission here at Southern Wesleyan University.”

As a freshman, Nathan was named to the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) All-Freshmen Team and was the starting point guard on a much improved SWU team. Nathan led his team in assists, and was one of the finest 3 point shooters in the SSAC and the NAIA at over 43%. Nathan was also named to the Dean’s List his first two semesters at SWU. As a sophomore, Nathan was named a Captain and his leadership on and off the court were instrumental in SWU’s return to winning success. He again led SWU in assists and continued his reputation as an accurate shooter and scoring threat. He was also the team’s recipient of the prestigious NAIA Champion of Character Award, and was named an NAIA/SSAC Academic All-American. As a junior, Nate’s season was cut short due to a season ending knee injury. At the time of his injury, the Warriors were 7-2 and heading toward one of the most successful seasons in recent SWU history. Nate’s leadership, shooting accuracy, and 14 point scoring average were critical to the team’s success. With Nate sidelined, the Warriors struggled to find a winning chemistry and ended with only 9 wins for the season. Nate continued his commitment to excellence in the classroom and was again named an NAIA/SSAC Academic All-American. Following surgery and a lengthy rehabilitation process, Nate worked hard in preparation for his senior season. A serious ankle injury, however; would again sideline Nate for over 6 weeks during his final collegiate season. Far from being 100%, Nate returned to the court to lead SWU to a birth in the NCCAA Tournament and to the NCCAA South Region Championship Game. Nate was also honored as one of 60 student-athletes nationally who were honored as NAIA Academic All-Americans and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Chi Academic Fraternity.

Nate joined the NRBA Staff full time in August 2013 and is responsible for designing and directing the popular NRBA Explode Performance Program. Nate is highly qualified to lead the Explode Program with both CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) and USA Weightlifting certifications. “We are so proud of Nate. He is a warrior in every respect. He is an example to all our students of a young man committed to excellence on the court, in the classroom and as a follower of Jesus Christ.” Coach Miller

Nathan honed his skills growing up a coach’s son, spending his summers participating in camps across the country, and at Hoop Heaven Camp in New York, competing against outstanding athletes and players. From that experience, he developed an incredible fundamental foundation in the game, an unparalleled work ethic, and a passionate competitive spirit that continues to drive him toward success. In addition, Nathan’s ability to teach and communicate at a high level has become a tremendous strength that others are taking note of. Nathan and his wife Madison reside in Raleigh, NC and are the proud parents of Jones and Callan.

Emily Prickett

Player Development Instructor

Emily Prickett currently serves as a Player Development Instructor at the NRBA, where she has been part of the staff since 2019. Her connection to the NRBA began long before her employment—she first attended NRBA Summer Camp at age ten and began personal training the following year. As one of only a few girls in the 10–12-year-old camp, Emily was pushed outside her comfort zone early. Competing primarily alongside boys strengthened her work ethic, resilience, and determination more than any other experience in her athletic journey.
From 2014–2021, Emily attended NRBA camps annually, earning numerous awards and developing a deep love for the game. Today, she continues adding to that collection by coaching championship teams in Winter League and Summer Camp.

Emily was homeschooled through high school and competed for New Life Storm in basketball, volleyball, and soccer, with basketball as her primary sport. During her senior year, she led her team in both free‑throw and three‑point shooting percentage, and she served as team captain for all three sports. Coaches consistently recognized her for her positive leadership and strong work ethic, qualities she attributes to her years of training and mentorship at NRBA.

After high school, Emily pursued a Bachelor of Science in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management at North Carolina State University with a minor in Business Administration, graduating in May 2025. She worked for Visit NC, the state’s tourism office, for a year before sensing the Lord calling her toward coaching more intentionally. This led her to shift careers and begin her Master of Art in Teaching Language Arts at NCSU while continuing her training work at NRBA. She also coaches the Middle School Girls’ B Team for Trinity Academy in both volleyball and basketball now.

Emily’s passion for sports and her ability to connect with athletes of all ages drive her desire to love, serve, and witness to youth in her community and beyond. She is an active member of Providence Church, serving in Kindergarten Sunday School and leading life groups for senior girls and young adults. Each year, she travels on mission to Pelhřimov, a small village in Czechia, where she has served four times and hopes to continue returning. They serve the community by hosting a weeklong basketball camp for all ages. She considers it a blessing to use her gifts to build relationships with children there and share the gospel.

Above all, Emily loves Jesus and basketball making NRBA feel like her second home. She grew up in its programs, developed as a player, and was shaped spiritually by the faithful leadership of Coach Miller and Coach Seth. She is deeply grateful for the opportunity to give back to the next generation of athletes coming through the NRBA.

Nick Ebadirad

Player Developmental Instructor

Nick Ebadirad serves as a Player Developmental Instructor at the NRBA. A lifelong resident of Wake Forest, NC, Nick first came to the Academy as a teenager, attending NRBA’s summer camps. It was there that he first heard about the idea of basketball and faith coming together, though he wouldn’t fully understand what that meant until years later.

On the court, Nick built a strong foundation in the game over many years. He played varsity basketball at both Wake Forest High School and Franklin Academy, spending most of his career at shooting guard, and competed in travel basketball for a decade, from third grade through his senior year of high school. His love for the game showed early. Countless hours spent shooting alone in the driveway laid the groundwork for the shooter and student of the game he would become.

In 2022, Nick became a born-again Christian, fully dedicating his life to Jesus Christ. It was then that the connection between basketball and faith he had first encountered at NRBA finally became real to him. Wanting to give back to the place that had planted that seed, Nick joined the NRBA staff full-time in 2023. He has since served as a full-time instructor and camp coach, and this past summer expanded his coaching experience further, serving as Assistant Coach for SW15H Elite travel basketball.

Since joining the staff, Nick has grown considerably under the mentorship and leadership of Coach Miller and Coach Seth Huber, developing both as an instructor and as a leader within the program. He has been a faithful member of Imago Dei Church in Raleigh since 2024, where his faith continues to grow alongside his work at the Academy. Nick is also a full-time student at Wake Tech, where he is studying engineering and science.

Through his combination of basketball knowledge, work ethic, and genuine heart for discipleship, Nick has become a valued member of the NRBA staff and an example of the Academy’s mission to develop young people on and off the court.

Freddie Mills

Player Developmental Instructor

Freddie is currently a Junior at UNC Chapel Hill, where he is pursuing his degree in Sport Administration and continuing to deepen his understanding of athletics, leadership, and player development. His passion for sports has shaped much of his academic and professional journey, and he is excited to apply what he learns in the classroom to real-world coaching environments. Before attending UNC, Freddie graduated from Ravenscroft School in Raleigh, NC in 2024. During his time at Ravenscroft, he played varsity basketball for two years, earning the respect of his teammates and coaches through his work ethic, consistency, and commitment to improvement. As a senior, he was elected co-captain, a role that reflected both his leadership qualities and the trust his peers placed in him. Under his leadership, the team had two highly successful seasons, and Freddie developed a reputation as a player who led by example and elevated the people around him.

Freddie’s connection to NRBA runs deep. He grew up in the program, first entering the gym as a young student attending summer camps in the 10–12 and 13–16 age groups. Those summers played a major role in shaping his love for basketball, providing him with mentors, friendships, and experiences that helped him grow not only as an athlete but also as a person. The lessons he learned—discipline, teamwork, confidence, and resilience—stayed with him throughout high school and into college. Because of the impact NRBA had on him, Freddie has always felt a strong desire to give back to the place that helped raise him.

For the past five years, Freddie has worked numerous NRBA summer camps as both a coach and a referee. In these roles, he has gained valuable experience teaching fundamentals, managing games, encouraging young players, and helping create a positive and energetic environment for athletes of all ages. His ability to connect with students, communicate clearly, and bring enthusiasm to every session has made him a reliable and respected member of the NRBA staff. This year marks an exciting milestone for him, as it will be his first year working private lessons and serving on staff outside of the summer months. He is eager to take on this expanded role and invest even more deeply in the development of young players.
